DeVry Career Empowerment Grant

The Career Empowerment Grant is a program designed to lower tuition debt for qualified employees of DeVry University partner organizations who enroll in programs at DeVry University or Keller Graduate School of Management.

How Does the Career Empowerment Grant Work?

The Career Empowerment Grant allows qualified employees to combine their tuition benefits with the Career Empowerment Grant to pursue education with low to no tuition debt.

Enrollment Status*

To be eligible for the DeVry Completion Grant, you must be a full-time employee of Comcast and be employed for a minimum of 6 months. New and readmit students who enroll in the selected Completion Grant programs at DeVry University in the May 2023 - March 2025 sessions may be elgible.

To enroll, eligible students must meet DVU or Keller admission requirements and start by the March 2025 session.

Initial Eligibility*

In addition to standard enrollment documents, eligible students must fill out and submit the following forms:

• Eligibility & Billing Form (E&B)

• Direct Bill Payment Plan Agreement Form

• Completion Grant Student Consent for Information Release Form

• Completion Grant T&Cs

Undergraduate students must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) to apply for any federal and state grants. Any federal or state grant(s) would be applied first to the student’s account before the company’s Tuition Assistance (TA) would apply.

Continued Eligibility*

To maintain eligibility, students must take only one course per session, and maintain continuous enrollment. Comcast requires students to earn a C or better for undergrad courses, or a B or better for graduate courses. Additionally, DeVry requires that students must maintain a CGPA as outlined in the academic catalog to avoid academic dismissal and must have a 3.0 CGPA for graduate programs to graduate and a 2.0 CGPA for undergraduate programs to graduate.

Students can only take two sessions off in their program and still maintain grant eligibility.

Undergraduate students must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) to apply for any federal and state grants each award year and provide any applicable financial aid documents. Any applicable grant(s) would be applied first to the student’s account before the company’s Tuition Assistance (TA) would apply.

If a student is no longer eligible for the Completion Grant at DeVry University:

• If the student leaves Comcast, they will be removed from the program and any DeVry Completion Grant funds received during the length of the program OR during the latest session will be charged back to the students account and the student will be responsible for the balance on their account.

• If a student is involuntarily terminated due to workforce reduction, they will also be removed from the program and the DeVry Completion Grant will be used to cover any tuition and fees on their account up to that point. The student will receive guidance on other ways to pay for the rest of their education and complete their certificate program.

• If the student is no longer eligible, any credits on the student account will not be given back in the form of monetary reimbursement.

Limitations*

The DeVry Completion Grant program does not cover repeat course work and optional charges at the bookstore, those are the responsibility of the student. Additionally, the DeVry Completion Grant is not available for students who are enrolled in a higher credential program and eligible to earn an undergraduate or graduate certificate as an embedded credential. If a student is determined ineligible for the grant, they will no longer be able to participate in the program.

The DeVry Completion Grant can only be combined with the DeVry Alumni Advancement Grant. If there are any one-credit-hour courses, they must be paired up with another course. Students with a SEA (Student Education Agreement) must complete all required financial aid documents by the end of the first session, otherwise, they will be removed from the program. For future award years, it is important to complete the FAFSA® and other relevant financial aid documents before the start of the award year to maintain program eligibility and registration.

Financial Restrictions*

The DeVry Completion Grant can be applied to eligible tuition and fees** that remain as a balance on the student's account. However, the grant cannot be applied to any balance resulting from a credit balance issued to the student.

An eligible student will not have incurred any external debt for their institutional charges.

Students who are determined ineligible for the grant will cease to participate in the program. If a student becomes ineligible to continue participating in the program for any reason, any unused DeVry Completion Grant funds will not be refunded to the student.

If a student loses eligibility, Completion Grant funds previously disbursed will be reversed and no additional funding will be awarded, and the student will be responsible for any balance on their student account.

DeVry University cannot limit a student's access to eligible financial aid funds without their consent. Students who borrow loan proceeds beyond the established program guidelines will be responsible for repayment according to the Federal Title IV program.

Timing

The Completion Grant will cover the student’s eligible balance of tuition and fees and will be awarded in the session following successfully completed courses in Week 3 after invoicing has occurred.

¹Each student is allotted 13 hours of tutoring per academic session through www.Tutor.com (available 24/7). Additional tutoring services are also available through www.DeVryTutors.com.

²Employees must apply to DeVry University and be admitted and accepted as a student, meet all prerequisite and course requirements, and take the complimentary course within their first session of enrollment. Students who place at foundations level may not participate in the program until they have successfully completed their foundational prep coursework. The JumpStart complimentary course applies to courses at DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management. Those interested in a 4-credit-hour course may enroll. 3 credit hours would be complimentary and the student will be responsible for the tuition of the remaining credit hour. Students are responsible for all other fees and charges, including books and the Learning Management System (LMS) fee.

*Students may participate in one DeVry-based tuition benefit program only. Those who qualify for more than one program will be presumed to accept the program with the highest reduction in by-semester cost. Students who qualify for and prefer a different tuition benefit program must confirm, in writing, the alternate program in which they wish to participate prior to starting classes at DeVry University.

**Dependents who may benefit from family tuition savings include: spouse, biological child, stepchild, legally adopted child, child for whom the employee is a court appointed guardian, child of a domestic partner, and adoptive or biological parents of the eligible employee. Dependents are also defined as a domestic partner in a committed long-term relationship. Neither party can be legally married to other individuals.
